چکیده

Various kinds of boundary actions have appeared over the years in the context of pure AdS3 gravity. One of them is the generating functional of stress tensor correlation functions of a dual holographic CFT. Others, obtained by Hamiltonian reduction of pure gravity in its Chern-Simons formulation, describe the dynamics of the only dynamical degrees of freedom residing at the conformal boundary. I will review these various actions and emphasize their differences. I will further discuss the role they play in the recent proposal that pure AdS3 gravity is dual to a random matrix ensemble.
